NEEM COSMETICS - FOR WHOM?

WHAT IS NEEM? The neem tree (Azadirachta indica), also known as the Indian lilac, is a highly valued Asian plant that is widely used in Ayurvedic medicine and increasingly in cosmetology. Its leaves, flowers, fruit, seeds and bark are used to produce skin and hair care cosmetics. The seeds of this tree are particularly valuable, as they produce oil rich in vitamins C and E and unsaturated fatty acids. In Ayurvedic and traditional medicine, neem has been used for centuries due to its antibacterial, antifungal, antiviral and anti-inflammatory properties. HOW DOES NEEM AFFECT THE SKIN? Phytochemical composition and biological activity Neem contains numerous bioactive compounds, such as azadirachtin, nimbin, nimbidol, salicylic acid, flavonoids, triterpenoids and fatty acids. These substances are responsible for the broad spectrum of neem's action at the cellular and tissue level. Their synergistic action affects the functioning of the skin barrier, lipid metabolism and the skin's immune response. Antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects Neem extract has strong antibacterial properties against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, including Propionibacterium acnes – a pathogen responsible for the development of acne lesions. Additionally, triterpenoids and flavonoids contained in neem modulate the expression of pro-inflammatory cytokines (including IL-6, TNF-α), which results in a reduction of skin inflammation and papulopustular lesions. Regulating sebum secretion and cleansing the skin Neem has a sebostatic effect, helping to regulate excessive sebum secretion, making it a particularly desirable ingredient in the care of oily and combination skin. It has a keratolytic effect, helping to exfoliate dead skin cells and unclog sebaceous glands, which translates into a reduced risk of blackheads. Antioxidant and regenerative effect Phenolic compounds contained in neem, including flavonoids and vitamin E, neutralize free radicals, delaying the skin's photoaging processes. Neem also supports epidermal regeneration and increases the skin's ability to retain water, strengthening the function of the hydrolipid barrier. Support for the treatment of skin inflammation Studies show that neem can support the treatment of inflammatory and autoimmune dermatological diseases such as eczema, psoriasis and atopic dermatitis. It soothes irritations, reduces itching and accelerates skin repair processes. HOW DOES NEEM AFFECT HAIR AND SCALP? Neem leaves and seeds contain a number of phytochemicals, such as nimbin, nimbidol, azadirachtin, quercetin, and fatty acids, including oleic, stearic, and linoleic acids. These substances have antibacterial, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties, making neem a particularly useful plant for treating scalps prone to inflammation, infections, or dandruff. Antifungal and anti-dandruff effect Neem effectively combats Malassezia fungi, which are one of the main causes of dandruff. Azadirachtin and other limonoids present in neem inhibit the growth of yeast-like fungi, while reducing inflammation and itching. Regular use of neem preparations (e.g. in the form of shampoo or tonic) helps cleanse the scalp and restores its microbiological balance. Sebum regulation and scalp detoxification Thanks to its astringent and cleansing properties, neem helps regulate the activity of sebaceous glands. Reducing excessive sebum secretion reduces the risk of hair becoming oily and inflammation around the follicles. Neem also helps remove toxins and impurities from the scalp, which improves its condition and can prevent hair loss. Strengthening hair follicles and stimulating growth Neem extract stimulates microcirculation in the scalp, which improves hair follicle nutrition and can affect the anagen (growth) phase of the hair's life cycle. Additionally, the antioxidants in neem protect hair follicles from oxidative stress, one of the factors that accelerates hair follicle miniaturization and hair loss. Treatment of inflammation and eczema Neem is helpful in relieving the symptoms of dermatological diseases affecting the scalp, such as seborrheic dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis. Thanks to its immunomodulatory and regenerative properties, neem supports the repair processes of the epidermis, reduces redness and itching, and limits the development of secondary bacterial infections. WHICH COSMETICS CONTAIN NEEM? Neem is an ingredient in many of our skin and hair care cosmetics. Neem in Orientana hair cosmetics combined with other ingredients is a synergistic effect of nature. Neem Hair Shampoo - Cleansing and Balancing the Scalp Neem shampoo is based on an Ayurvedic formula that uses the cleansing and anti-inflammatory properties of this plant. Thanks to the presence of neem leaf extract, it has strong antibacterial and antifungal properties, effectively eliminating dandruff and soothing itchy scalp. Additionally, it regulates sebum secretion and restores microbiome balance, making it an ideal solution for people with problematic, oily scalp. Henna for hair with neem - coloring and care in one Henna Orientana with the addition of neem combines natural hair coloring with care. Neem strengthens hair follicles and has an anti-inflammatory effect on the scalp, counteracting irritations that may occur during the dyeing procedure. Additionally, its presence helps fight dandruff and gives hair a healthy look, without drying or weighing it down. Ayurvedic hair therapy with gotu kola and neem - nourishment and regeneration Orientana also offers an intensive strengthening therapy with gotu kola, neem and other Ayurvedic ingredients. Neem in this formula acts as a detoxifier and regulator of sebaceous glands, supporting the treatment of inflammations of the scalp. In combination with gotu kola, which stimulates collagen synthesis and supports microcirculation, neem strengthens the bulbs, prevents hair loss and accelerates hair growth. Amla-Bhringraj Hair Oil with Nee M – Treatment for Damaged Hair In Amla-Bhringraj oil, neem plays a protective and balancing role. It has an antioxidant and regenerative effect on the scalp and supports the regeneration of damaged hair follicles. In combination with amla (a source of vitamin C) and bhringraj (a traditional herb that strengthens hair), neem improves hair elasticity and resistance to breakage, and also prevents excessive hair loss. Gotu Kola and Neem Hair Lotion – Stimulation and Soothing of the Scalp Gotu kola and neem lotion is a preparation that activates hair growth through anti-inflammatory, antibacterial and microcirculation stimulating effects. Neem cleanses the scalp and eliminates factors that can block hair follicles, while gotu kola improves blood circulation and supports cell division in the hair matrix. Regular use of this lotion brings noticeable effects in the form of thickening the hairstyle and reducing hair loss. WHO SUIT NEEM COSMETICS FOR? Cosmetics with neem are recommended primarily for people struggling with recurring skin conditions such as acne, eczema or dandruff. It is also a good option for those with mature skin who would like to stop the passage of time and hide the signs of skin aging - it is not without reason that neem is called the "elixir of youth". Cosmetics whose key ingredient is neem can bring real relief and restore vitality to even the most problematic skin.

HENNA STEP BY STEP

If you are planning to switch to natural dyeing with Bio Henna, we will gladly show you how easy it is. If you find it troublesome to prepare and apply Bio Henna yourself, this post is just for you! The effects of henna are worth every minute of your time – healthy, soft, shiny, thick hair. After all, each of us wants to delight with its shine, because hair is in some way our calling card. Below you will find step by step instructions on how to mix and apply Bio Henna. See for yourself how easy it is!: Unpack the Bio Henna can. Inside you will find powdered herbs in a sachet, gloves and a cap. Pour the powdered herbs into any container (a glass or ceramic bowl will do) and add warm water (around 50⁰C), enough to create a thick paste (remember that it should not be too watery or too thick, because you will later apply the paste to your hair – it should not run off your hair!). Mix until the resulting paste is uniform and free of lumps (what do we mix with? A spoon or even an old toothbrush will do). Leave the mixture to cool. Now it's time to wash your hair with shampoo (it's very important that it doesn't contain SLS/SLES/ALS, only then will Bio Henna properly bind to the hair's keratin). After washing, dry your hair with a towel. Put on the protective gloves that came in the can to avoid getting your hands dirty. Now start spreading the cooled Bio Henna evenly and thoroughly covering all hair. You can do this with your fingers! Henna applied? Now quickly cover your hair with the cap that was in the can. Remember not to let the henna cool down on your hair, so put a hat on the cap, for example, which will prevent heat loss, or dry the cap with a hair dryer from time to time. Leave the henna on for two hours (you can also leave it on longer, then the Bio Henna will bind even more strongly with the hair keratin) - you can experiment with the time you leave the henna on! The time you leave it on affects the saturation and durability of the color - so the longer the better! After this time, wash Bio Henna from your hair with warm water. And only water! It is very important that you do not use shampoo, conditioners or hair styling products for 48 hours! This is extremely important if you do not want the color to wash out immediately. Remember that in the case of Bio Henna, you will get its final colour on your hair two days after colouring! With each subsequent henna application you will become more and more skilled! It is absolutely not difficult and it has a beneficial effect on our hair! When hennaing your hair, each time another layer of Bio Henna is applied to the hair, so you will notice an increasingly deeper color. In the next posts on our blog you will soon read about what distinguishes Bio Henna Orientana from other hennas, how to mix Bio Henna colors and what Bio Henna Colorless Conditioner gives. With Orientana you can easily switch to natural coloring and your hair will love it! You will quickly notice the positive effects of applying herbal mixtures to your hair! ?

WHAT INGREDIENTS DO NATURAL HENNA CONTAIN?

Are you wondering what natural henna is? The right to call it " hair henna " is basically only the herb from the Lawsonia Inermis bush, which dyes hair from copper to intense red. However, in Poland it is common practice to call all herbal mixtures hennas for hair. They can contain various herbs which, due to the content of appropriate dyes, when mixed according to a specific recipe, will give the hair the desired color. It is always worth checking the composition of the mixture you buy to make sure that it contains absolutely nothing but plant ingredients, because it sometimes happens that a product with a label saying natural henna for hair actually contains really strong chemical dyes under inconspicuous-sounding names. For this reason, if we want to dye our hair naturally, it is worth spending some time and getting to know the ingredients that are actually of natural origin. natural henna - WHICH HERBS does it contain? The most commonly used for hair dyeing are the aforementioned lawsonia, which gives a shade of red, and indigo, which gives a black color. These two herbs, mixed in various proportions, are found in virtually every natural henna with a shade of brown or black. Lawsonia is a plant that is cultivated both in India and in countries around the Mediterranean Sea, where the weather conditions are suitable for it to grow. It is primarily used as a hair dyeing herb, but an interesting fact is that a more intense color can be obtained on hair that has been dyed using leaves from young plants. In addition to coloring, lawsonia also has a number of care properties and has a very beneficial effect on the hair and scalp. This natural henna for hair creates a sheath around each hair, which significantly affects the thickening of the hair and gives the entire hairstyle more volume, but also serves a protective function against the harmful effects of external factors. In addition, lawsonia has a very good effect on the condition of the scalp, which translates directly into hair growth, because the bulbs have an ideal environment for development. Natural henna has antibacterial and anti-dandruff effects and also prevents the development of fungi on the surface of the scalp. Such natural henna is, above all, the safest possible coloring, hair strengthening and their deep regeneration. HENNA INDIGO The second most common herb in natural henna hair mixtures is indigo. For centuries, it has been cultivated mainly for the excellent quality of the dye used for dyeing fabrics, making paints and also for hair coloring. Indigo blooms with beautiful purple or pink flowers, and its bushes are considered extremely decorative and can be found in many gardens. Natural henna with the addition of indigo perfectly smoothes the hair surface, unifying its structure. It also gives hair shine and volume. HOW DOES AMLA AFFECT HAIR? In addition to the color-giving Lawsonia and Indigo, herbal coloring also includes additional herbs that also have the power to give color or are an excellent care supplement. One of these most important herbs is the increasingly popular Amla, or Emblica officinalis . Amla, also known as Indian gooseberry, is primarily a very rich source of vitamin C and other valuable nutrients. It is used, among others, for a very popular rejuvenating and regenerating paste called chyavanprash. Amla is also a component of many herbal mixtures used in Ayurveda to treat many diseases of various body systems. The cosmetic properties of amla are not limited to hair, but it must be admitted that it is a plant that enjoys great popularity in hair and scalp care. Enriching natural henna for hair with amla significantly increases its nourishing effect. First of all, amla prevents hair loss and strengthens its bulbs. This is very important for healthy hair growth and helps to deal with the problem of thinning, lack of density or weakness, which results from various causes. Amla oil is also used, which is rubbed into the scalp, but using coloring is a great way to also take care of the condition of the hair while enhancing the color. This can be achieved when amla is added to the herbal coloring mixture, i.e. henna for hair. WHAT IS BHRINGRAJ AND HOW DOES IT WORK ON HAIR? Bhringraj is an exotic plant that in Sanskrit is called the lord of hair. Its power to strengthen hair has been known for centuries. Bhringraj also eliminates graying, slightly darkens hair and can help fight baldness. It is also used orally. According to Ayurveda, it can also help memory, calm hyperactivity and the rush of thoughts in the head, and help fight insomnia. Bhringraj used in natural facial cosmetics also has an effective rejuvenating effect! Natural henna to which bhringraj is added can therefore have a very beneficial effect not only on the nourishment of the hair and scalp, but also on the entire body. HOW TO USE NEEM IN HAIR COSMETICS? Another valuable plant that is used in natural henna is neem, or azadirachta indica, known in Polish as Indian lilac. Neem has, above all, strong antibacterial and anti-inflammatory effects. It creates an environment on the skin that is unfavorable for all kinds of fungi and microorganisms, which can weaken the hair follicles and themselves, but also cause inflammation, pimples or other skin problems. Natural henna with the addition of neem means that it will also have properties that slow down graying. WHAT OTHER PLANTS CAN BE FOUND IN NATURAL HENNAS? Acacia Concinna is a mysterious Latin name for shikakai, a powder obtained from nuts. Shikakai powder can be used alone as an excellent and most natural shampoo, while added to natural henna for hair, it will thoroughly cleanse the scalp. Additionally, it normalizes the function of the sebaceous glands, which can be an excellent way to get rid of the problem of oily hair – which is actually the skin on the head that produces excess fat. Shikakai also stops dandruff. Natural henna contains shikakai mainly to regulate skin balance and give hair shine and softness. Another very interesting plant that can be found in natural henna is bacopa monnieri, or brahmi. It is one of the most important herbs in Ayurvedic medicine, which primarily affects the nervous system. Ayurvedic doctors believe that it greatly improves memory and concentration, thus rejuvenating the mind. An interesting fact is that brahmi helps fight addictions – to alcohol, drugs, but also… to sugar! Natural henna for hair containing the addition of brahmi, in addition to its traditional Ayurvedic effects, is perfect for brittle hair. It also stops hair loss and strengthens the scalp. Arnica Cordifolia is a beautiful plant with yellow flowers related to the sunflower. It has no coloring properties, but in natural henna for hair it has strengthening and rebuilding properties. It also restores the balance of the scalp by acting anti-inflammatory and helping to fight dandruff. Natural henna for hair enriched with the arnica cordifolia plant will therefore be an excellent natural cosmetic that will not only give color, but also nourish the hair and take care of the scalp. Aloe in India is called "kumari", which means a young girl or maiden. This name is directly related to the properties of the plant, which has been considered a source of youth for centuries. Aloe tones, regulates, cleanses, accelerates healing, moisturizes, regenerates... the list of its properties and uses is really long. Powdered aloe added to natural henna will work wonders on your hair. Its smoothing and regenerating effects can be noticed immediately after use. Aloe in natural henna for hair will enhance its soothing power and any inflammation on the scalp will be soothed. WHAT IS THE MATTER ABOUT CLEAR HENNA FOR HAIR? Cassia is also a very interesting herb used to nourish hair. The leaves of this plant are a great alternative to hair conditioners and allow you to take care of your hair in a completely natural way. Cassia contains a lot of chrysophanic acid with anti-inflammatory and soothing properties, as well as anthraquinones with antiviral and antibacterial properties. The content of these compounds in natural henna for hair allows you to primarily take care of a healthy scalp, which will provide the right environment for the growth of healthy and strong hair. Cassia also affects hair directly, making even damaged by hairdressing, modeling, or simply weakened hair regain shine, reduce their brittleness and improve elasticity. Basically, cassia is a natural hair henna that does not change the color of the hair and is intended only for hair care. However, people who have very light hair naturally or chemically lightened or gray hair can achieve a beautiful golden glow thanks to cassia and it can slightly color such hair. To sum up, it can be said that the wealth of Asian herbs used for hair coloring with natural henna should encourage anyone who wants not only to take care of their health but also comprehensively take care of the natural growth of strong and healthy hair to use herbal coloring.

IS THERE A HENNA FOR GRAY HAIR?

Henna for gray hair is not a challenge at all! Read and try it yourself. Dyeing gray hair with henna is becoming an increasingly popular solution for people looking for natural, safe and permanent coloring methods. Henna, a powder obtained from the leaves of the defenseless Lawsonia inermis , not only gives hair a beautiful color, but also strengthens its structure. However, the process of applying henna to gray hair requires special attention and proper preparation to achieve optimal results. Below you will find a comprehensive step-by-step guide on how to apply henna to gray hair. Why is henna for GREY HAIR the perfect solution? Henna for gray hair is a wonderful natural cosmetic. It changes hair color, gives hair a beautiful shine, strengthens hair follicles, cares for the scalp and reduces scalp oiliness. A natural alternative to chemical paints Henna is a great option for those who want to avoid the chemicals found in traditional hair dyes. Gray hair, due to its specific structure, can be more sensitive to harsh chemicals, so henna is a gentle yet effective choice. Hair durability and care In addition to its coloring properties, henna strengthens hair, improves its texture and gives it a healthy shine. Its natural compounds act as a conditioner, reducing breakage and making hair soft. WILL HENNA DYE GRAY HAIR? WHEN DOES GREYING BEGIN AND WHAT DOES IT LOOK LIKE? Henna is not always able to completely cover grey hair, because grey hair has a different structure and properties compared to pigmented hair. In people of Caucasian descent, greying usually begins around the age of 35. People of Asian descent start greying from the age of 40, and in black people the first grey hair appears around the age of 45 . About 50% of the population has at least 50% grey hair by the age of 50, known as the "50-50-50 rule" On average, a person loses about 10-20% of melanocytes (cells responsible for hair pigmentation) every decade after the age of 30. The rate of graying varies. Faster in people with genetic predisposition (early graying). Slower in people who lead a healthy lifestyle and have low stress levels. There are no significant differences between men and women in the age at which gray hair first appears. Men tend to notice graying at the temples and beard earlier than in other areas. Women are more likely to experience graying evenly over the entire head. Factors that accelerate graying The strongest factor influencing age and the rate of graying is genetics. If people in our family gray quickly, we have a high percentage chance that we will also gray hair quite early. Scientific studies suggest that long-term stress can also damage melanocyte cells, leading to earlier graying. Oxidative stress, caused by free radicals, also contributes to pigment loss. Lifestyle is very important. Smoking doubles the risk of premature graying. An improper diet, poor in B vitamins (e.g. B12), iron or copper, can accelerate the graying process. Autoimmune diseases (e.g. vitiligo, alopecia areata) and vitamin deficiencies can lead to loss of hair pigment. For such people, henna for gray hair is a perfect natural solution. WHAT DOES GREY HAIR MEAN? Lack of natural pigment in gray hair Gray hair lacks melanin, the natural pigment responsible for hair color. Henna works by binding to the keratin in the hair and enhancing its color, but in the absence of melanin, this process is less effective. Gray hair is more "transparent" compared to pigmented hair, which can cause henna to not provide an intense color. Changed structure of gray hair Thicker hair cuticle: Gray hair often has a thicker, more compact cuticle, making it harder for the henna dye to penetrate. More porosity: Gray hair, on the other hand, can be more porous, which can cause the henna to not spread evenly, leading to uneven color. HOW HENNA WORKS ON GREY HAIR Henna reads Mahogany Red works as a translucent dye that adds color by layering over the natural hair tone. On very light gray hair, henna may give a more orange or copper tone instead of full coverage. Pigmented hair forms the base for the chosen henna color, while gray hair requires an additional step to achieve a deeper color. The inability of henna to turn a darker color is NOT A PROBLEM Natural henna does not contain chemicals or other dyes (apart from red) that could penetrate deeply into the hair and create a darker or more saturated color. In the case of gray hair, henna can only give a copper shade, which often seems too light or insufficiently covering. Mixtures of natural henna with the addition of indigo and Ayurvedic herbs such as Dark Brown Henna , Caramel Brown Henna or Walnut Henna . Henna coloring mixtures can leave a green sheen on gray hair. It is necessary to dye in two stages. First, pure henna Mahogany Red is dyed to give the hair an orange or copper shade. Then a mixture of henna and indigo is used to obtain a deeper color. hennA for gray hair - How to increase effectiveness ? It is necessary to dye in two stages . First red henna, then a mixture with indigo for better coverage. Longer holding time is required: henna on gray hair. Gray hair may require 4-6 hours for the dye to fully absorb. It is good to create an acidic environment for henna. Adding lemon juice or vinegar to the mixture improves the release of the dye. THE PROCESS OF HEATING GREY HAIR Henna for grey hair requires special attention. We need to buy two packages of henna - red and the color we want to achieve. Before applying henna, the hair should be properly prepared. Wash your hair with a shampoo without SLS and SLES to gently cleanse the hair. Do not use conditioner because the conditioner can create a barrier that will make it difficult for the henna to penetrate the hair. Comb your hair well. Make sure the hair is free of tangles. Preparation of the mixture Proportions and ingredients : Use the appropriate amount of henna depending on the length of your hair (e.g. 50-100 g for medium length hair). Mix red henna (pure) with warm water (approximately 50-60°C) until you obtain a smooth, thick paste. Add a little acidic ingredient (e.g. lemon juice, apple cider vinegar) to better release the dye. Henna application Skin and clothing protection : Apply Vaseline or oil along the hairline to avoid staining the skin. Wear gloves. You can protect your clothes, but henna stains will come out in a regular machine wash. Application : Divide your hair into sections and apply the paste from roots to ends, making sure all gray hairs are thoroughly covered. After application, wrap your hair in plastic wrap or wear a plastic cap to maintain moisture. Put a hat on your foil-protected hair - henna works better when warm. Holding time : Henna for gray hair stays on the head for 2-3 hours. Gray hair may require longer time to achieve intense color. Rinsing off henna Rinse your hair with lukewarm water without shampoo. If necessary, gently remove any remaining paste with your fingers. Avoid shampooing for the next 24-48 hours to allow the dye to set. HENNA FOR GREY HAIR - SECOND APPLICATION We already have hair dyed with pure red henna. It is probably not the color you want, so the next day you can immediately apply Henna coloring in the chosen shade. Proportions and ingredients : Use the appropriate amount of henna mixture depending on the length of your hair (e.g. 50-100 g for medium length hair). Mix henna of your chosen colour with warm water (approximately 50-60°C) until you obtain a smooth, thick paste. Apply to hair Rinse without shampoo. Additional tips for dyeing gray hair with henna include regularity of application - henna does not wash off the hair, but regrowth will be visible. Repeat dyeing every 4-6 weeks. Summary Henna for gray hair is a natural and safe alternative to chemical dyes. With proper preparation, selection of the mixture and following the right steps, you can achieve a lasting, beautiful color and healthy and strong hair. This process, although more time-consuming than chemical dyeing, brings benefits to both the aesthetics and condition of the hair.
