We modeled ourselves on Asian facial skin care and oil massages, which facial massage improves the condition of the skin and makes it look younger and healthier. In this entry you will learn about the benefits of facial massage, how to perform an oil massage, how to choose the right oil and take care of the health of the skin.
Different types of massage - different
facial oils
Facial massage is a skin care technique that not only improves the appearance of the skin, but also relaxes and improves well-being. Regular massage can bring visible effects, both cosmetic and health, and a good oil is a guarantee of beautiful skin.
Manual massage
:
Made by hand, without the use of tools.
Techniques include stroking, kneading, tapping or gently pinching the skin.
Popular in beauty salons as part of relaxation treatments.
Lymphatic drainage
:
Massage aimed at improving lymph flow.
Helps reduce puffiness, e.g. bags under the eyes.
Stimulates the cleansing of the body of toxins.
Kobido Massage – Japanese lifting massage
:
Intensive massage with deep effect.
It stimulates circulation, improves skin firmness and acts as a natural lifting.
Gua Sha Massage
:
Made with a special stone (jade or rose quartz).
Sliding movements stimulate circulation and reduce muscle tension.
Helps in modeling the oval of the face.
Chinese cupping massage
:
Performed using special silicone cups.
Reduces muscle tension and improves circulation, has a lifting effect
The basic massage that you should master is manual massage. At home, we can also do cupping massage and gua sha massage. Leave other massages, especially kobido facial massage, to specialists. Bet on good facial massage oils!
How to do a self-massage with oil step by step
Self-massage is a great way to improve the condition of your skin. You can do it yourself, using your hands, special tools (e.g. roller, Gua Sha) or use facial massage oils instead of cream.
Preparing for the massage
Determine what the purpose of the massage is (relaxing facial massage, smoothing facial massage, firming, etc.) and choose the appropriate oil. Wash your face with a soft and dry towel. Wash your hands thoroughly to avoid transferring dirt to your face. Apply facial massage oil to your hands. This makes it easier for your hands to slide over the skin, minimizing friction.
Steps
Forehead
:
Place the fingers of both hands in the center of your forehead.
Using gentle smoothing movements, move your hands towards your temples.
Repeat 5–7 times.
Eye area
:
Use the pad of your ring finger (gentlest pressure).
Move your fingers from the inner corner of your eye, along the eyebrow arch, to the outer corner.
Return the lower eyelid towards the inner corner.
Repeat 5 times.
Cheeks
:
Place your hands on either side of your nose.
Move them gently upward and outward towards the temples.
You can gently knead the cheek muscles with your fingertips.
Repeat 7–10 times.
Nose
:
Make gentle circular movements around the nostrils.
Move your fingers up along the bridge of your nose.
Lips and chin
:
Place your fingers in the center of your chin.
Move your hands towards the corners of your mouth and then up along your jawline.
Repeat 5–7 times.
Jaw line
:
Use your thumb and index finger to gently massage your jawline, moving from the center of your chin towards your ears.
You can also do gentle pinching along your jawline to stimulate the skin.
Neck and décolleté
:
Massage your neck, moving from the base towards the chin.
On the neckline, move your hands from the center of the chest outward toward the shoulders.
All you need to do is spend 5-10 minutes a day on a rejuvenating facial massage to see the results. Always move your hands upwards and outwards to counteract gravity. Use gentle pressure, especially around the eyes and mouth. In addition to your hands, you can use a roller or a special gua sha massage stone.

What oil to use for facial massage?
Facial massage oil stands out from other cosmetics thanks to its care properties and versatile use. Facial massage oils provide optimal glide during massage, minimizing friction and the risk of skin irritation. They contain a wealth of nutrients (fatty acids, vitamins, antioxidants) that nourish the skin during massage. Many oils are fully natural, which reduces the risk of allergic reactions and irritation. They can be used both as a base for a relaxing facial massage, a rejuvenating massage and as a daily care product (e.g. instead of a night cream). Natural oils help strengthen the skin's protective barrier, preventing moisture loss. Many oriental facial massage oils have an aromatherapeutic effect, which promotes relaxation during massage.
Types of Massage Oils. Which Face Oil to Choose.
Sesame seed oil
Sesame oil is a natural cosmetic with a centuries-old tradition used both in skin care and massage. Extremely rich in vitamins E, A, B, fatty acids and minerals, it is the base oil of many natural cosmetics. Morning facial massage with this oil will intensively moisturize the skin, reduce fine wrinkles and scars. It removes toxins from the skin surface and has anti-inflammatory effects.
Jojoba oil
Rich in vitamins A, E and D, omega-6 and omega-9 fatty acids, natural wax esters. Regulates sebum secretion, ideal for oily and combination skin. Intensively moisturizes the skin. Supports the skin's hydrolipid balance. Often chosen as a moisturizing oil for the face.
Almond oil
Contains vitamins A, E and B and linoleic acid. Nourishes the skin, is ideal for sensitive and irritation-prone skin. Intensively moisturizes the skin and smoothes it.
Grape seed oil
A good oil characterized by a high content of vitamin E and fatty acids. It has a strong antioxidant effect, educates fine wrinkles and improves skin firmness. Light consistency, absorbs quickly.
Rose oil
Rich in Vitamin C and beta-carotene, it lightens discolorations and evens out skin tone, stimulates skin regeneration, reduces scars and fine wrinkles. Rose facial oil with essential oils will make you feel better because aromatherapy will work on you.
Coconut oil
Base oil containing
lauric acid and vitamin E. Great as an economical facial massage, ideal when used in the kitchen. Two in one. Coconut oil strongly moisturizes and smoothes, is suitable for dry and dehydrated skin. Choose a lighter form of coconut oil for the face (fractionated oil) because it is better tolerated by the face.
Avocado oil
Natural oil rich in vitamins A, D, E, omega-3 acids. Facial massage improves skin nourishment and regeneration. Facial massage improves the appearance of dry and mature skin.
Tamanu oil
Its ingredients such as
fatty acids and calophylloidin support skin regeneration, have anti-inflammatory and antibacterial effects. Unfortunately, natural essential oils give it a specific smell. The benefits of facial massage with tamanu oil include soothing problematic skin.
Tea Tree Oil
It is not a base oil but is often found in anti-inflammatory face oils. Rich in terpenes and antiseptics, it is strongly antibacterial and cleansing.
How to choose the right massage oil?
For dry and mature skin
: Sesame oil, rose oil, avocado oil.
For oily and combination skin
: Jojoba oil, tea tree oil, tamanu oil.
For sensitive skin
: Almond oil, coconut oil (fractionated).
For problematic skin
: Tamanu oil, tea tree oil.
