Did you know that Orientana is a Polish brand? Although these are natural cosmetics made from Asian plants, they are created by a Polish woman. A Polish woman in love with Asia and a natural lifestyle. The creation of Orientana was preceded by several important facts in my life: A few years ago, I focused on nature. I switched my whole family to a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle. I gave up processed food, started teaching my children to read labels and live ecologically. The reason for this change was, among other things, my visits to Asian countries, where people live close to nature and greatly appreciate its value. I visited many Asian countries where I learned about natural medicine, Ayurveda and amazing plants, whose beneficial effects have been known in those regions for thousands of years. I also learned about cosmetics with natural, simple compositions, the formulas of which are different from European ones. I decided to combine my passion for natural cosmetics and Asia with work. This is how Orientana was created - natural cosmetics made from Asian plants. The best specialists and Ayurvedic doctors in India and scientists from Poland who specialize in natural formulas work for Orientana. I create cosmetic concepts, and they transform them into a natural product. Without compromise, always with the best natural composition, as innovative and unique as possible. I want my brand to stand out among cosmetics with its full naturalness, high quality and Asian ingredients. I want it to be available and enjoyable for every Polish woman. I hope you will love Orientan as much as I do.
Sandalwood oil is a natural essential oil obtained from the wood of sandalwood, especially from species such as Santalum album (white sandalwood) or other plants belonging to the sandalwood family. This oil has a long history of use in aromatherapy, cosmetics and traditional medicine. Once, you could hear its characteristic scent when smelling a sandalwood rosary. It was available in our country only in this form. WHERE IS SANDALWOOD OIL PRODUCED? Sandalwood is native primarily to South Asia, including India, Indonesia, and Sri Lanka. The oil is extracted by steam distillation of finely ground sandalwood, which produces a thick, golden-yellow liquid with a distinctive, warm, and woody scent. The highest quality oil comes from white sandalwood (Santalum album), which must be at least 15 to 20 years old for its wood to contain sufficient aromatic oils. What does sandalwood look like? Sandalwood, especially the species Santalum album (white sandalwood), is a medium-sized, evergreen tree with a distinctive appearance. It grows to a height of 4–10 meters. Trees grown in plantations are usually shorter to facilitate harvesting. The trunk is straight, and its bark is thin and smooth, light brown when young, darkening with age. The interior of the wood (the pith) has an intense smell and a golden-yellow color, which is its most valuable part. Sandalwood is a semi-parasite – its roots attach to the roots of other plants to draw water and nutrients. It prefers dry, sandy soils but can adapt to a variety of conditions. Sandalwood is highly valued for its wood and essential oil. Unfortunately, due to over-exploitation, many species of sandalwood, including Santalum album, are protected. Controlled cultivation and plantations are now the main source of sandalwood oil to protect wild trees. CHEMICAL COMPOSITION OF SANDALWOOD OIL Sandalwood oil contains key active compounds such as: Sesquiterpene alcohols , including alpha-santalol (50-60%) and beta-santalol (20-25%), responsible for its medicinal properties and fragrance.
